Monetary compensation
Compensation by payment of money where restoration is impossible or insufficient.
In brief
Monetary compensation should put the injured party in the economic position in which they would have been without the harmful event. It must not create unjust enrichment.
The type of loss, restoration costs, diminution in value and necessary consequential costs determine the amount.
